What is Restylane®?
Restylane is an injectable clear liquid gel of hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar compound found in your body. Once precisely injected through an ultrafine needle, Restylane instantly adds volume to the skin, smoothing wrinkles and enhancing the lip area. Although there may be a slight pinch from the injection, this discomfort is typically tolerable.
Generally, patients only require one treatment session of Restylane and the results last at least six months before naturally expelling from the body. However, patients can see even longer-lasting results, up to 18 months, if they receive touch up treatments 4-9 months after their first treatment. An initial consultation with Dr. Kestin is necessary to determine the best treatment plan for you.
The Recovery
Right after your Restylane treatment, you may have some redness, pain, swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection site(s) that is typically mild and may last about a week. Results are noticeable right after treatment, and will naturally fade over time.
