What is Dysport?
Dysport is a botunlinum toxin type A injection, similar to Botox® Cosmetic, that has been FDA-approved to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, also known as glabellar lines. Dr. Kestin can also use it to correct “crow’s feet”, forehead lines, fine lines around the mouth, and chin dimpling. With an injection appointment for Dysport, you can restore your naturally younger appearance, without the need for any surgical incisions.
What is Botulinum toxin type A?
Botulinum toxin type A is a prescription injectable neuromodulator used to level wrinkles formed by continuous facial movements, such as frowning, smiling, squinting, and other facial expressions. The neuromodulator works by briefly blocking the nerve signals to the specific overworked muscles, causing the skin to smooth and soften.
Every treatment varies for each patient depending on their particular cosmetic concerns. In our New York City office, Dr. Kestin will administer precise injections based on your needs and desires and what he deems appropriate. About a week after your treatment you will see a visible improvements, which will last about 3 to 4 months. Follow-up and touch-up appointments may be scheduled to maintain your new look.
The injection session should only take about 10 to 15 minutes and requires minimal to no downtime. This amount of time makes it a perfect lunchtime procedure for vibrant and younger results. Although most patients don’t mind the slight pinch of a Dysport injection, Dr. Kestin will happily numb the treatment area with topical numbing cream or ice. A radiant you is just one quick phone call away to schedule your initial consultation.
